Yet again leaders in the driving tuition field NDS Driving School is proud to present a fresher approach to learning to drive. Currently we are changing our tuition cars to the new lowest carbon energy efficient cars.

The brand new VolkWagen Polo TDI (pictured) is more expensive than regular types of car but its a cost that we are willing to bear if it helps the environment and all our futures. We are currently implementing them and other cars like it across the fleet and these cars are officially the cleanest and most carbon efficient cars yet to be used by ANY driving school in the UK! 

Why has NDS Driving School done this?

Most driving school cars are petrol ranging from 1000 cc to 1600 cc on average, and are running an average 10 hours a day and 6 days a week. This works out to be approximately 500 - 600 miles a week! That makes tuition cars like a 1600cc Ford Focus to be potentially one of the worst polluters on the road. This is considerably more than even running a luxury 4x4 like a Range Rover daily.

So realising that all of our competitors are in fact creating a huge carbon footprint by emitting huge amounts of pollution into the atmosphere. We decided to be different and set a new positive trend.

Our new cars are so low in carbon output that they are Government backed and granted congestion charge exemption just like electric cars but with the advantage of still being a conventional driving car.

So which cars are the worst polluters?

The petrol Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Astra, Vauxhall Corsa, Nissan Micra, Toyota Yaris, Peugeot 207 and Citreon C3 which are petrol are among the worst polluting driving tuition vehicles on the road currently. The annual vehicle excise duty displayed on all cars identifies the level of CO2 emissions from the vehicle.
